Massage for cancer patients (oncology massage) can be safely done before, during and after cancer treatments, with some restrictions, based on the stage of healing.

Massage does not treat (or cure) cancer but it has been proven to help cancer patients ease the anxiety of conventional medical cancer treatments. Massage can be an additional mode of treatment that may bring much needed comfort to the patient and the patients family. Studies have shown that massage may reduce –

  • Pain
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Depression

It may also help to improve sleep, reduce the effects of scar tissue, increase range of motion, enhance mental clarity and assist with the general quality of life.

**Massage therapy does not spread cancer cells, as previously believed. Studies have disproven those false claims.**
